Erin Lefevre'21 and Liam's World

Erin Lefevre'21 and Liam's World

School of Education Adolescent Special Education student and NYC Teaching Fellow, Erin Lefevre, not only works as a full-time teacher in District 75 but has also been a documentary photographer for several years. She is the creator of "Liam's World," a project that documents the life of her younger brother Liam, in pictures. Liam has autism, and Erin shares that her project "documents his life as a person on the spectrum who is transitioning from youth into adulthood." As a special, personal touch, "Each image contains handwritten captions by Liam underneath that elaborate on his thoughts and feelings."

Erin's work has been published in The New York Times on several occasions and was even featured in the British Journal of Photography. She has also been awarded grants and received awards for Liam's World. And her work doesn't stop there. In addition to lectures with artist organizations, Erin has also visited middle and high schools, as well as colleges across the country, to speak about her photography and autism.

Her work will be on display at the Photoville Exhibition at St. Ann's Warehouse walkway by the Brooklyn Bridge through November 29. This exhibition is the largest photography festival in the USA.

Beautiful work, Erin! We are Pace Proud!!!
